Hartman Oral Surgery COVID-19 Office Update:
We are continuing to review the most current recommendations from the Center for Disease Control as well as the American Dental Association and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to help us make evidence based decisions to develop treatment guidelines to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
We have a responsibility to our community as Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons to provide treatment to patients who have acute symptoms that require immediate attention. Based on our review of the available information, as well as discussing the situation with our colleagues that are on the front line in larger, academic hospitals, we have made the following guidelines for the upcoming week:
We will continue to answer our phone during normal business hours and have a doctor on call during non- business hours, allowing our patients to reach us AT ALL TIMES.
If you are exhibiting signs of COVID-19 and have an acute dental issue, please call our office before arriving.
Upon arrival and prior to entering the office, everyone will have their temperature taken and be asked to fill out a COVID-19 health questionnaire.
All staff will have their temperatures taken prior to the start of patient care and will fill out the same COVID-19 questionnaire as our patients.
Our office has split into two equally effective teams and will rotate office days with one another. We have also labeled patient treatment rooms to be team specific.
A decision for surgery will be based on a case by case basis. In some cases, antibiotics may be prescribed instead of surgery.
We will continue to clean and disinfect all patient care areas after treatment per CDC guidelines.
We will continue to update our guidelines as new information and recommendations become available.
Be safe everyone and remember to practice social distancing.
Please continue to be understanding during this time and feel free to call our office with any questions at 717-766-7697.
